We are excited to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March 2026. Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Staplehurst, and this day is a wonderful chance to enjoy books together.
This year, we will be holding a Vocabulary Parade!.
Children are invited to come dressed as an interesting adjective. Please display the chosen word and its definition on the outfit—this could be a sign, sticker or on a hat.
If your child prefers not to dress up, there are still plenty of ways to join in:
• Wear school uniform with a sticker showing their chosen word
• Wear a T‑shirt or badge featuring a favourite book
• Bring a favourite book to share
There will also be fun activities such as lunchtime reading buddies and end‑of‑day story time with different teachers.
We warmly invite you to our “Parents In to Read” session from 8:35–9:00am on World Book Day. All year groups are welcome to join reading activities together!
