Catch Up Funding at Staplehurst School
The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds. This funding includes a one-off universal £650 million catch up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time.
At Staplehurst School, capacity has been provided so that our English lead has a full day of release time to enhance our English provision, support small group reading and phonics interventions, as well as staff training. Further to this, the Catch Up Funding is also being used to enhance our reading and phonics resources. Another part of the funding we receive will also go towards high quality tutoring provision for our Pupil Premium children and capacity to provide further opportunities for teacher led quality first teaching during the school day.
Please see our Catch Up Funding Plan below. We will be reviewing the impact of the Catch Up Funding at the end of this academic year.
