General Phase Information

Reading

    • Read every night to an adult, please write in the contact book when you have heard your child read.
      • Reading books can be changed on any day but the children will receive a new book every Monday. If you wish to have the books changed during the week, please write a note in the contact book.
    • Please ensure reading books and key words are in school everyday so your child has the opportunity to read in school to an adult.

Contact Books

    • To be brought into school every day.
    • Messages from you to us and us to you.
    • Please sign any messages that we have written to show that you have seen them!
    • Books will be checked daily. Please encourage your child to hand them in first thing in the morning.

P.E. Kit

    • Please ensure your child has the correct P.E. kit in school.
      • These will be sent home at the end of each half term.
    • Blue P.E. t-shirt, blue or black shorts, plimsolls or trainers for outside, bare feet or plimsolls for inside.
    • Tracksuits or sweatshirts may be worn when cold.
      • Preferably blue or black. 
      • No Hooded jumpers for Health and Safety reasons.
    • Long hair should be tied back, no jewellery and no earrings.
    • A note from parents/guardians is required to excuse your child from P.E.

Equipment

    • The children are provided with all the equipment that is needed in school.
    • Your child may bring a named water bottle to school every day.
    • Your child will also need a waterproof coat and a pair of wellies

Ways to help your child at home

    • Regularly reading to your child
    • Visit places of interest!
